One year ago today, Don Andres Iniesta rewrote the history books with a heroic goal against Holland in the World Cup final that will remain in our memories forever.
El Blanquito now is amongst the Top 3 best-loved people in Spain but it not all down to scoring a goal. He is an example to our youth, someone to look up and learn from.
On a personal note, I still remember how, in the late 1990s, a little pale boy from Albacete joined the Barça academy, precisely the team where my cousin was playing in. They were teammates for the year, and I still remember how Andresito always took control of the match, like a little mini-Guardiola. We all knew he was the next big genius!
And look at him now, right at the peak of his career, having won 3 Champions Leagues and 5 La Ligas!!!!
Fearless and commanding on the field, humble and caring off it. A true legend – and his best is yet to come.
