When Yaya Toure decided to leave Barça last summer, many Cules panicked and even said the Pep Team would be unable to cope without him.
Some fans were arguing that Sergio Busquets didn’t have what it takes to become a leader in midfield as he lacked Yaya’s undeniable strength and determination.
And what about Javier Mascherano’s signing? Most thought it was a mistake to spend 24MILLe in the Argentinian captain as they believed Toure to be irreplaceable – but the truth is he left the club due to lack of playing time and, obviously, a bigger paycheque from football’s newest Richy Riches: Manchester City.
The truth is: I didn’t miss Yaya at all. Busquets was key to complete the Xavi-Iniesta midfield and Mascherano became so important that he even took Puyol’s place in the starting lineup in the Champions League final.
YAYA: THANK YOU FOR THE MEMORIES!!!!
