Some people keep insisting in rubbishing Ronaldinho’s career based on how quickly he went from hero to zero after peaking while playing for FC Barcelona.
While I was definitely not impressed by his performance in the last two seasons, it’s best to just remember our Brazilian star for what he brought to our club: Happiness, a breath of fresh air and, ultimately, success.
Barça had been trapped in mediocrity for far too long during a period where only Rivaldo and the appearance of young Xavi and Puyol cheered Cule fans up a bit – but not that much, really.
Ronaldinho Gaucho signed for FC Barcelona in the Summer of 2003 and caused a major impact almost instantly. I still remember his tremendous goal against Sevilla shortly after- I nearly jumped on the pitch from my seat at the Camp Nou to kiss him!!!
El Gaucho went on to win 2 La Ligas, 2 Spanish Supercopas and, most importantly, lead our club to our second Champions League back in 2006.
