Guardiola was right to sign Cesc Fabregas >> Read My Mind

Cesc Fabregas: ‘If I’m honest, I DID expect making an impact at FC Barcelona from the first match, even if I knew that getting a place in this team would be very complicated. I’m satisfied because, whenever I’ve been available, I’ve got on the pitch, and I’ve ended up playing in almost every game’

Cesc Fabregas: ‘This season, I’ve played in right and left midfield, on the wings, up front, in the hole… I’ve had to adapt to the circumstances because I’d always played central midfield, which is where I feel best. That said, I try to do what’s asked of me no matter where I’m deployed, and in this system I feel very comfortable wherever I find myself’

Cesc Fabregas: ‘My experience in English football has helped me to play faster, more physically and more directly’

Cesc Fabregas: ‘This is Barcelona and we’re obliged to win every game. It’s what people expect. That makes it mandatory for us and we have to deliver. It’s the same for Real Madrid, AC Milan, Manchester United, Juventus and Bayern, among others. That’s just the way it is at big clubs’

– Guardiola spent many years trying to convince Arsenal to sell their captain. Despite that, many still doubted where Fabregas would fit within Barça’s formation. Four months later, we still don’t really know.

Cesc is definitely a quality addition to the squad but, having played in so many different positions, I feel a bit confused as to where Pep prefers him. I sometimes feel I can’t keep up with these constant formation changes, 3-4-3 on match, 4-3-3 the next (The Catalan press report FCB may use a 3-5-2 at the Bernabeu in 10 days time!!)

For me, Cesc Fabregas has been more effective when partnering with Messi upfront, right behind him, combining quickly through the middle. With 5 La Liga goals in just 8 starts, The Fab4 is definitely on the right track.

Having said that, expectation at the Camp Nou is major: Cesc’s great start will soon be forgotten if titles aren’t lifted at the end of the season.

CESC FABREGAS: A GREAT ADDITION TO THE PEP TEAM!!!!
