Don’t give me that “little ole'” Elche talk. With a line-up of young players and a debut for their centre-forward, three points were never guaranteed. Led, and yes, LED by Gavi, Barcelona salvaged three points with goals from Ferran Jutlga, Gavi, and substitute Nico Gonzalez. A terrific first half was soured by the same old issues in the second half, allowing Elche to come back, but the importance of Nico’s game-winner shouldn’t be taken lightly.
