David Villa: ‘I don’t have to be worried about all of this, it’s all the same to me. I work so that the coach, my colleagues, the fans, and my family, are happy, and that’s the case’
David Villa: ‘I’ve always had the affection of team-mates and especially the public. I noticed it since the day I arrived’
– In football, fans tend to question the coach when results don’t go well. In Barça’s case though, doubting Guardiola’s job would simply make you sound stupid after winning 12 of the last 15 titles.
So what’s the alternative? Pick on players who are underperforming. At the Camp Nou, that seems to be David Villa.
I disagree though: El Guaje Villa is having a decent season, considering the fact that Messi seems to absorb most of the game flow in attack (Again, not Leo’s fault, but his teammates who choose him far too often)
As most fans, I’m tired of seeing Villa offside but, to be fair, he’s always played at the edge of the opponents defense, which is one of the main reasons for his incredible goalscoring record in La Liga and for the Spanish National Team.
