Puyol: ‘These were eight months of suffering (in reference to the unfortunate knee injury which ruled him out for almost half a year). I had a hard time because I could not see a solution. I experienced loss of strength in my leg and I could not play.

Puyol: ‘I even thought about quitting football’

– I couldn’t be more pleased to have El Capitano back in the Barça dressing room. His sole presence motivates players and coaches around him. WELCOME BACK!!!

To hear Puyol even mention the word ‘retirement’ makes me realise how fortunate we are for having a footballer with such charisma, dedication and love for the Blaugrana colours.

Carles Puyol is our true leader, the Catalan Lion who has been here not only lifting trophies, but also through the dark years.  A piece of every Cule’s heart will drop when he finally hangs his boots.

I hope his newly recovered knee can let us see Puyol back on the pitch, terrorising strikers and helping Barça overcome the challenges ahead.

CARLES PUYOL: WHAT A LEGEND!!!!
