Oh man, we are just so good at everything aren’t we? Regal Barcelona (Barça’s basketball team) won the Euroleague Championship after beating Olympiakos 86-68 in the European final in Paris. The mighty blaugrana players were led by Juan Carlos Navarro – who dropped 21 points after a memorable MVP performance – and the brilliant youngster Ricky Rubio – 9 points but, most importantly, able to organise our attacking plays and assist our forwards fenomenally.
Regal Barcelona were gigantic from the start, with an amazing 28-19 lead after the first quarter. It wasn’t an easy ride after that moment, but our heroes succeeded and came back home with yet another European trophy for our FC Barcelona museum – The second in our history, which will be added to this season’s Catalan League, Spanish SuperCup, Spanish King’s Cup and, quite possibly, the ACB League.
Navarro said after the match: ‘I am happy that we have won this competition again: For the team, our coaches but specially the fans, they deserve everything! We have worked hard all year and this win makes it all meaningful’
